Float like a Butterfly (4 June 2016)

And so it goes on; after David Bowie, then Ronnie Corbett, Victoria Wood, Lemmy, many others - not all dear to me, but all somehow part of me.

2016: what a year.

Now Dave Swarbrick, fiddler with Fairport Convention (listen to Crazy Man Michael); and Muhammad Ali, always part of me since a child - boxer, yes, but also entertainer, civil rights activist, survivor of Parkinson's disease. He refused to fight in the Vietnam war: "I ain't got no quarrel with them Viet Cong, no Viet Cong ever called me a nigger." He was always there.

Everyone needs heroes, inspiration for their lives; my previous blogs have photos of people who have touched me or inspired me - like Liam Fee, shown here, who was killed by those who should have protected him.

Be inspired by Muhammad Ali:

"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing."

Go well, champs

all the best
